Privacy

Math Riff keeps as little about you as it can. It never asks for your email address, shows no ads, and uses no outside tracking or analytics services.

If you only browse

Nothing about you is stored on our server. Your browser remembers one thing on your own device: whether you chose the light or dark look.

We do count visits, without knowing who you are. Each day the server keeps a few totals: how many times the site was loaded, about how many different people came, and how often each plate and glossary word was opened. To tell people apart for that day’s count, it briefly scrambles your address and browser name with a secret that is thrown away at midnight, so the count can’t be traced back to you or linked from one day to the next.

If you sign in

You sign in with GitHub or Google. We never see your password, and we don’t ask either service for your email address. We keep:

We also keep what you do here: your votes, your “does it hold up?” marks, your comments, the riffs and images you submit, and your feedback on glossary definitions. Comments and approved riffs are public, shown with your name and picture.

Other services your browser talks to

Like most websites, our server may keep ordinary logs (such as the address a request came from and the page asked for) for keeping the site running. We don’t use them to follow anyone.

Deleting your account

To have your account and everything you’ve posted removed, write to info@trueblocks.io and say which GitHub or Google name you signed in with.
